Find Your Perfect Eyebrow Shape

No facial feature has defined the last 12 months like the eyebrow has. From full to thin, arched to straight, your eyebrow shape can instantly alter your appearance. As there’s no one-size-fits-all style, we’ve identified the best brows for your individual face shape.

Square faces

If you’ve got a square-shaped face, often characterised by an angular jaw, opt for softly rounded brows. Full brows with a subtle arch will neutralise a chiselled bone structure. Use an eyebrow comb to brush these hairs in the direction of their natural growth just like Keira Knightley and Salma Hayek, or apply a tinted eyebrow gel for added texture, similar to Diane Kruger’s.

Round faces

Offset a round face and fuller cheeks with angular eyebrows. A high arch creates the illusion of wider set eyes, defined features and a longer face. Take your cue from Mila Kunis, Miranda Kerr and Lily Collins.

Long faces

Long faces suit flat and straight brows - think well-groomed but not overly dramatic. To balance out a vertical face shape, extend the tails of your brows to slightly beyond your outer eye corners. If you’ve got dark hair like Liv Tyler and supermodel Joan Smalls, choose an eyebrow pencil that’s a shade lighter, as this will soften your overall skin tone.

Heart faces

Well-manicured eyebrows are a must for heart-shaped faces. With a petite jaw line, you’ll want to soften a wider forehead with subtle, rounded brows. Forgo the tweezers and opt for threading to create an arch similar to Reese Witherspoon’s or Scarlett Johansson’s.

Oval faces

As oval-shaped faces tend to be the most well-proportioned, a classic and balanced brow will work wonders. Think full and boyish like Cara Delevingne, or try a light, feathered effect like Jessica Alba and Alexa Chung.
